Honda CB1000 Hornet SP

Honda CB1000 Hornet SP has been launched in India at Rs12.35 lakh, Ex-showroom, India. The new, litre-class street naked motorcycle marks Honda’s foray into the segment that is dominated by the Kawasaki Z-900 and the Triumph Street Triple R and RS.
The Honda CB1000 Hornet SP is powered by a 999cc, inline-four cylinder engine that makes 155bhp at 11,000rpm and 107Nm at 9,000rpm. This engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
As for the design of the bike, it looks like a proper street naked. The headlight looks mean and adds to the streetfighter image of the bike, while the beefy fuel tank and the upswept tail section is text book street naked.
Under the bodywork of Honda CB1000 Hornet SP there is a steel frame that is suspended by a Showa SFF-BP fork and an Ohlin’s TTX36 mainshock. The bike rides on alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres. Braking duties are taken care of by twin discs at the front and a single disc at the rear.
In terms of features, the bike gets three pre-set ride modes – Rain, Standard, and Sport – and two customisable ’User’ modes. In the User modes, riders can alter these parameters like throttle response and traction control as per their requirements. The motorcycle also gets a 5-inch colour TFT display, LED projector headlamp, and Bluetooth connectivity.
It’s interesting to see that Honda chose to launch the higher-spec, SP variant of the CB1000 Hornet in India. The standard variant could’ve made the bike more accessible and we wait to see is Honda considers launching it in the future. for more info
